I am beginning research into my trip to Japan over the Christmas period. My main objective is to establish some kind of itinerary around the temples so that I can fit them all in to the time I have available. I also hope to make some contacts with people in Japan. I have just bought a guide book to Kyoto which I hope will help me find my way around. I am also using The Traveller's Guide to Japanese Pilgrimages by Ed Readicker-Henderson to help me create my itinerary.
